OpenSolano.org is a website dedicated to connecting people with public data and information. More specifically, OpenSolano was designed to answer the questions that people should be asking.

Government was created for the people and by the people, yet, so often it does not feel that way. Citizens need a way to provide oversight to government operations, and the government needs better feedback to tailor operations and provide high-quality governance.

Wepublic.org is designed to be open, comprehensive database of United States government agencies and officials.

Currently, a comprehensive database containing this information does not exist. Due to the decentralized nature of U.S. governing bodies, no agency captures this information from top-to-bottom. Separation between federal, state, county, and local bodies prevent this from occuring. Yet, information about public officials is essential in connecting and participating in policy and decision-making for communities.

Working with e-Democracy.org, Sunlight Foundation, and OpenPlans, Wepublic.org is designed specifically for re-use; so developers can build applications on top of the open platform, providing extending the ways citizens can connect and participate in local matters.
